Obamamania Gets Creepy

Obamamania is spreading like wildfire, friends. It's even worked its way into the hotel industry. Last week I had to visit a client in New Mexico, so I booked a room at a luxurious resort hotel (aka the La Quinta chain). I arrived slightly early, and my room wasn't ready yet.

The porter said, "If you'll give me 5 minutes, I'll have the room ready for you. We just have to change the sheets."

As I finished up checking in at the front desk, the clerk said, "I hope you have a wonderful stay."

When I got up to my room, I called the operator to see if they could give me a wakeup call in the morning. "Yes we can!" was all she said.

Jeez, could you be more obvious about your support for a presidential candidate? The whole ordeal creeped me out, so I canceled my room and stayed at another resort hotel in the area - Motel 6.

Computerski ist Kaput

One of our two main computers has pissed me off for the final time. If you turn it off for more than ten minutes, it will not boot when you turn it back on. It powers up, and the fans and hard drives start spinning, but no boot. To get it to boot, it must be left on for an hour or two, and then be reset. I thought it might be a power supply issue, but it wasn't. Screw it, we're making a new one.

This is what I ordered. It seems like a pretty powerful combination, especially for under $1k. What do you think? Did I goof up somewhere?

Expert Hunter/Trapper

My Pop's been catching possums and raccoons at his home in the Dallas area and carting them away to the forest for over a month. Up until yesterday, his tally was 5 possums, 2 neighbor's cats, and a 'coon. But this is an amazing catch. Obama, always a big fan of Español, would say that this was the 'Coup d'état' 'coupe de ville' [thanks le!] of trappings!
